Women's Star Crest Recipient Awards in Skydiving

1st SOSWSCR World Record

On 21 April 2013, history was made in women's skydiving at Skydive Elsinore, CA.

Eight women skydivers, all over 60 years old, made the first Skydivers Over Sixty (SOS) WSCR at the historic California dropzone. The women were all experienced WSCR skydivers.  Appearing in the photo below are: (front) Monique Careau-WSCR 1310, Sandra Doyle Darhman-WSCR 74, (rear) Alicia Anderson Moorehead-WSCR 466, Louise Gallan-WSCR 1087, Dana Morrison Handbury-WSCR 148, Chris Deli Schilpp-WSCR 399, Betty Bennett, and (standing) Hollis Elizabeth.

Three of the newest record holders are genuine pioneers in women's skydiving...they were part of a World Record Night WSCR jump at Skydive Elsinore on 14 Oct 1978.  The 15-woman NWSCR World Record is 34 years old and still stands today.  (L to R) Dana Morrison Handbury-NWSCR 19, Sandra Doyle Darhman-NWSCR 10, and Chris Deli Schilpp-NWSCR 15 point to their positions in a practice dive for their record jump.  The photo is posted at Skydive Elsinore.
